Burn

Talk about self destruct to a Tee
I thought there wasn’t space for ought not even me
I’d burned out, or so it seemed
I wanted. Waited for death’s arrival.

And then you blazed in
Set this heart ablaze with its embers visible
Alongside my whole being
And then… left.
Almost as soon as you waltzed in.

Effectively keeping me awake
Guess with no hiding place
Felt every prick and nick of pain
Watching these fragments burn
Seeing the smoke and ashes beneath the smoke and mirrors.
Loving yet regretting your entrance and exit.

I guess, I still wanted to burn.
