Foolish Men

Foolish men are often times the bravest

If the gods grace you with chance
As you cross from womb to life
Don’t be a boy
Because boys become men
And men chase after death

Then if you so desire manhood
As if life wasn’t that good
Don’t be a fool
Because fools think it wise
To serve a land that sold its right

Then if foolishness is your pride
And a medal your sole prize
Don’t be my dad
Don’t be the man that left his child
On Christmas Eve to waste his life

Foolish men get dressed everyday
In search of safety, water and food
To keep the ones they prize the most
And this foolish girl still prays
Her loving father wasn’t that brave

Why not share?
