“If I Be a Book” — A Poem by Anne David O.

“If I Be a Book” — A Poem by Anne David O.

If I’m a book
My soul would be trapped
On each leaf.

If I’m a book
I would breath
At the turn of each leaf.

If I’m a book
I would yearn for
The musical melody
Of the wobbling leaves.

If I’m a book
My heart would dwell
In the minds of bibliophiles
Whose querying quest
Is a golden glimpse
Of my audacious aura.

If I’m a book
I would live forever
In the tomb of mummys
Blended with dust
And golden shelter.
