You’re too faithful a God
For when I was down
You lifted me with your rod
and rid me of every frown.
You took me out of dangerous snares
and out of lurking pestilence
That nothing should cause me to shed tears
Nor pain come nigh my presence.
You took me out of the wells of darkness
And gave me a new song
A song of victory and happiness
All year long.
I will forever dance before my king
The Lord of my heart and my life
To whose garment I will cling
As long as I’m alive.
