If Everything is Little

If everything is little,
years of growing will be brittle,
will crack when rattled.

If everything is little,
waiting will be a spittle
that fell on dry kettle.

If everything is little,
ants will get titles
and rule over turtles.

If everything is little,
trumpets will be whistles
and tales of love as epistles.

If everything is little,
earth would be a bottle
and men will roam inside like beetles.

If everything is little,
mosquitoes will go into battle
against buzzards, hawks and eagles.

If everything is little,
hearts would be won by riddles
and love hung on girdles.

But there is little
of everything in little
which balances and settles
everything in life with great mettle.
