The Girl That Played With Fire

She was more of a flame than a spark
Dangerous on the inside
And ignorant of it
They saw her as ice: calm, almost lifeless
But she was a cocoon of troubled waters
Then life toyed with her
Punctured her
Cut her open, expecting to see a harmless butterfly
Lo! She was a dragon
Glorious! And proud to be sinister
All along, life had been playing with fire
