She’s Gone

I cried out as an infant soul
In distress of a love lost
So glad it came back,
Only to realize, though back yet lost forever

She was a diamond treasured
She was like a fire that sparkled joy
The key to happiness
She could make a smile from pain

I lost a friend turned sister
So painful my heart wanted to burst
Those beautiful memories still treasured
Yet filled with dread, I feared
Now, a memory that has to fade away

How can I remove the guilt I feel?
Yet, it’s not my fault, I say
Memories flowing like an empty stream
I can’t let go of them
Yet, can’t hold them still

I have to let go, though it hurts
I hope to move on, though I still feel them
I close my eyes and hope for a change
