There are times you feel spent
So low, the feeling, like a spiritual dent The causes can be various things
A long day at work, an emotional scene, or even stepping the wrong way on little twigs
Of course, afterwards there might come respite
A soothed body or mind or not quite
You might feel an emptiness within
Showing through your eyes, the fatigue therein
It usually passes after a good night’s rest For, it’s not a usual long living pest
But to be feared, are those that last too long
Their cure might be that to which, I would be obliged to say to you, “So long.”
