Pitter Patter, It Rained

Pitter patter used to be a song
By Barney in Barney and Friends.
Pitter patter, I sang myself today
As the rain splattered.
This pitter patter did not only bid
Beads of sweat goodbye,
It kissed me with a mouth filled with
Memories of when we dance around in pants.

The beats on the roof bore witness
To the sensual rumbling in the pit of my belly.
The rumbling sent an hush to the grumbling
About heat and non-stop sweating.
Rain has landed,
It came in, accompained by petrichor.
Let this rain reign.

Then, I heard from a distance,
A dirge for a pure white cloth soaked in dirt.
“Oh! Who asked for this rain?”
Humans!
