In the Wake

I lost the act of living
that very day you walked away
you walked out my world
and left it in crumble

You left me gathering the pieces
of the heart you squeezed
the heart that pumps tears for blood
since you left

I used to think a love like ours
was meant to be
meant to be the envy of others
I guess such love exists in folklores

Now I drink myself to sleep
Waiting for the scornful hands of death
To end my misery
Misery of not seeing you by my side
