Street Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd
Even when I sleep on the street
I shall not want
Even when I hardly see crumbs to eat
He makes me to lie down in green pastures
Under bridges with green algae
He restores my soul to remind me I still have hard days to face
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadows of death
Does he know that fear has been my only companion?
I heard he’s with me
Even while Uncle Emeka’s rod discomforts me
And he prepares a table before me
In the presence of fear and depression
My tears overflow
Surely, Goodness and Mercy shall follow me;
Yes, they’re there with me on the street also
With no shelter and food
We shall dwell on this hell on earth
All the days of of lives
Until this God comes down and save us
