Not Just ‘Women’

All day long I think of someone
But unfortunately I’m not being thought of
I do my best to care for someone
But unfortunately I’m not being cared for
Is it my fault I’m not a ‘he’
Is it a crime to be a ‘she’
Why can’t I be treated fairly
Sadly, I crave equality so badly

A lady offends and receives the blame
Becomes a victim yet bears the shame
Ngozi should be seen and mustn’t be heard
One word from her and then she’s dead

As life goes on, females go on
As the earth rotates, the girls still wait
We believe one day our cries will do
We are not just women, we are humans too

Why not share?
