Don’t Take Advantage

It starts the moment you begin to see the calls as normal
And the visits no longer turn you on the way they used to
You no longer shriek at the sight of his gift surprises
All his voice does now is to bore you to tears
Don’t take advantage.

Don’t take advantage of his concern or his being there
He has a million and two places to go on his list but he chose you first
Don’t take advantage of his constant check up and calls
One day you’ll crave for the barest flashing but you won’t see it ’cause you drove him away

Don’t take advantage, don’t you ever
You’ll be the only loser at the end.

Don’t take advantage of the smiles she gives on sighting you
Or the little scream she gives when you sneak up at her from behind
Don’t take advantage of the fact that she never fails to tell you that she loves you
Reminding you every moment with texts, calls and short notes.

Don’t take advantage of the fact that she’s always there
There are other guys on a line for her but she chose you over them
Don’t take advantage of the tears she let slip over you
One day you’ll badly want to see even a smile but you won’t get none ’cause you pushed her away.

Don’t take advantage, don’t you ever
You’ll end up wishing you never did.
