Has Religion Fallen

Has religion fallen
When my song is endless and my soul slugs in worship
Has religion fallen
When my fantasy darkens as a preacher anchors the offering
Has religion fallen
When my dress to church is clearer than my mind that whispers evil in the absence of a hush

Has religion fallen
When all I see is a market place with customers that have come to pay the price of a soul they didn’t take
Has religion fallen
When consecration is not what I see, but desperation in the eyes of many
Has religion fallen
When I buy the truth with gold, but it is presented to me like crumbs in the bowl of a dog

Has religion fallen
When my eyes see high and my mouth picks up a lie
Has religion fallen
When all we do is warm the chairs, instructing others to wipe off the sweat
Has religion fallen
When we cherish what we pay for, than what is given to us freely
Has religion fallen?

Has religion fallen
When all I see are hypocrites that hold hands to pray
While their hearts wish their hands could be a pin that draws breaths away
Has religion fallen
When all I see is religion, practised under the pretense of Christianity
Has religion fallen
When all I see is worshippers on bended knees with hands stretched forth to kiss the hand of a leader they killed in their leisure time?
Has religion fallen
When all I see are your lips whispering ‘slut’ at the sight of her
Cause her dressing never matches yours?
Has religion fallen
When the loudest during prayer is judged, and considered a fervent in spirit member
Has religion fallen
Or my hand scribbles blasphemy?

Why not share?
