Leaving

How you could walk through the doors without taking one final cursory look at what you stand to lose?

We both know this is far from what we want…
Our hearts want to stay but ego has come to play.

Just yesterday, you were cuddling me…
we talked about the future…

Curse this day!
Curse the day that defiled our happiness!
Curse the past that came knocking on the doors of my present!
Woe be the day I failed to foresee a better future and dived recklessly into the promiscuous pool of that present.

But what happened to ‘for better for worse’?
I stood for ‘richer or poorer’!

I wish to say the word, ‘I’m sorry’, but I know what you did last summer.

Why not share?
