Too Good

I knew it was too good to be true
Everything she said or did
Not that I was undeserving of it though

I decided to give it a try
“I love you,” she claimed
What’s the worst that could happen
Life’s all about taking risks
And I didn’t wanna have any regrets
I thought

I did things I ordinarily wouldn’t
I gave my time, my trust, my word
Anything to make this work
Or so I thought

It all came shattering
My world, like the walls of Jericho
The moment I heard those words
For once I stopped thinking
I knew what has happened
