Mixed Feelings

I want to reach out
I swear, I do
The feel of those warm cheeks
A treasure I’m not in a haste to let go

Do you really want to leave?
Do you really have to go?
I know it’s for the best
But then, this moment is my worst
I curse this day

Behind your tears of remorse
Why do I see strong will?
I would have stopped you, even with arms
But I just have my two arms
Ready to hug the imaginary you

This thunderstorm in my heart
Where love wrestles with pain
You were once a patch in my skies of loneliness
My tongue is heavy to say goodbye

Have a piece of my broken heart
A reminder that you were once my breath
