Our Culture, Our Heritage

Black is the colour
And Africa gave us a face
Our culture is proud to be part of our race
It doesn’t fade,
Purely refined and made

Even when civilization waged its war
History’s gift to us
and she lives for ages
Many years it thrived
Tilling the lands of the black man

The tribal marks and beauty
Inbound is a mother’s tongue,
Ushering fervent praises,
It’s an ogungun festival
The African man’s wrestlemania

Similarity we dare, culture slept around
The tribes; Igbo, Yoruba and Hausas
Educated us and gave us answers
A hint of black music, a rekindle spirit
An ancient medicine, fine capsules
Culture is around us, a heritage too.
